Translation is an important aspect in the blogging atmosphere. Because your Blog will be read not only by your local audiences but also from around the world. Even though you write in English language which is an universally accepted and known language, people will feel much better to read the posts in their local languages if available.

Installation :

We can do the installation of translation widgets in two ways

1. Easy Way

2. Hard Way

The Easy Way :

1. Google has provided translation tools for our blogs and website here –> http://translate.google.com/translate_tools?hl=en

2. First , Select your language of your Webpage in which it is written.

3. Copy the HTML shown to include the gadget on your webpage.

4. Go to your WordPress Widget panel , Open a text widget , put the code in it and save.

5. That’s all. Now your blog is ready for translation.

6. Go to your blog and now you can see the Google gadget where you have placed the code.

The Hard Way :

1. you can download and install any translation plugin for wordpress like WordPress Global Translator Plugin (you can also do it via your plugin browser if you have an wordpress version greater than 2.7)

2. Configure it and show the widget.

Hmm.. The Hard way seems Easy than the Easy way Right ? But ,It’s not. There are many disadvantages in the hard way when compare to the easy way.

They are

1. First of all, we have to add (+1) to the no. of plugins list.

2. If wordpress changes the way the plugin works or the way the widgets work (exactly like the change in wp 2.8) then this plugins will become useless.

3. We have to depend upon the author of the plugin for the any upgrade regarding translation.

4. These plugins often use your own webserver for storing the catched translated pages of all languages for easy access and to avoid the ban from translation engines.

5. If you update any old post or page it will take much more time to reflect the same in all the catched translated pages. The process of changing will take a long time inside your webserver and also it results in dumping of webpages.

6. The amount of query taken for translation of a given page is limited.

7. If the author wants more money, then he will decide and release a pro version with all the features which will cost you Dollars($) and may be the free version to be left unnoticed.

8. For every translated post and pages, it will automatically assign an url

Last but not the least, these plugins are using the same Google translation engine (or other similar)where we get the direct code in the easy way.
