How to Lock your Windows7 Computer with a Single Click

You can Lock your Windows 7 computer with a single mouse click.For that do it as follows.

Creating the Shortcut :

1. Right click on Desktop, select New–> Shortcut.

2. In Type the location of the item, enter

“rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation“.

3. Click “Next“.

4. Give the shortcut a name such as “Lock“.

Choosing Icon :

If you want , you can give the above shortcut, an appropriate icon by which we can easily recognise it while using it.

To do that,

1. Right click on the Shortcut.

2. Select “Properties“.

3. Click “Change Icon“.

4. Enter “shell32.dll” in the box and select any icon you wish.

Pinning the Shortcut :

If you dont wan’t to keep it as Desktop Shortcut, you can always pin it to the Taskbar , by dragging the shortcut icon and leaving it on the taskbar.

Now you can easily lock the Windows 7 system with a single click from your taskbar.Now you can delete the desktop shortcut which we created above.
