It has exactly 100 tags (even i counted it ..lol…) in the popular tags section of “Add Plugins” page. Below are some of the tags listed which are mostly repeated by different other tags (but it share same kind of plugins)

1. admin – administration
2. bookmark – bookmarking -  bookmarks – social bookmarking
3. categories -  category
4. comment -  comments
5. feed -  feeds
6. image -  images
7. link – links
8. navigation -  page – pages
9. photo – photos – picture – pictures - thumbnail
10. plugin -  plugins
11. Post – posts
12. statistics -  stats
13. tag – tags
14. user -  users
15. widget -  widgets

The most unacceptable tags are “plugin” and “plugins” (lol…we know we are browsing plugins only here…  )

So In a total of 100 Tags, more than 50 percent are useless. Guys , are We (the users) look like a fool to you ?

So why not take a look at it and change it as soon as as possible..What I think is, this can also be controlled by reducing the number of Tags (may be 5 ) a plugin author should add for his plugins …and again don’t tell me that they are all ready small or a lot of tags is not allowed in WordPress Plugin repository.

look all the tags added for a bookmarking plugin.people if they want a bookmark plugin from the WordPress Plugin repository, then they search there for “BOOKMARK” and not for” healthranker, mixx or indianpad“.

If you do solve this problem, people will have the chance and time to look into the ALL of the “6086 Plugins” (as of this writing)  which are often neglected by a mask of popular plugins and by this kind of mistakes in Core.
